Product Information

1. What is the difference between area scanners and line scanners?

Area scanners perform 3D spatial inversion calculations based on the image projected by the camera's projector, while line scanners are slower and require relative motion between the camera and the object to complete the capture. RVC scanners use the structured light principle for single-trigger data acquisition, and the RVC-M series supports both line scan and area scan modes.

2. What are the differences between monocular and binocular capture?

Binocular capture is more stable than monocular capture, and the accuracy is usually better in binocular mode, but the capture time is longer.

3. What is the length of the RVC Scanner cable?

Most models of the RVC series come standard with a 5 meter cable, some models come with a 15 meter cable, and other cable lengths are available upon request. Contact RVBUST sales for options.

4. Can I use connectors to splice the scanner's network cable if it is not long enough?

Splicing is not recommended. Splicing the cables may affect the quality of data transmission, resulting in packet loss or timeouts.

5. Can RVC Scanners be used outdoors?

The RVC-G series and M series cameras utilize laser projection and are extremely resistant to ambient light, allowing them to be used outdoors in sunlight.

6. Can the RVC-P and I Series Scanners be used outdoors?

The RVC-P and I series use LED light sources for projection, strong external light (such as sunlight) can interfere with imaging and affect scanner performance. Therefore, the RVC-P and I Series are suitable for use in indoor environments and are not recommended for outdoor use.

7. Does the RVC Scanner driver support docker (containers)?

Yes, it does.

8. Is there a CUDA version of the RVC SDK? What kind of graphics cards are supported? Is there a CUDA version requirement?

There is a CUDA version, recommended for NVIDIA GTX 980 and above graphics cards, recommended for CUDA version 11.1 and above.

9. What are the configuration requirements of the RVC SDK for PC?

Recommended Minimum
System 64-bit Windows 10 or above/Debian 10/Ubuntu 18.04 or above 64-bit Windows 10/Debian 9
Processor Intel i7 Intel i5
RAM 16GB 8GB

10. Is RVC Scanner vibration-resistant?

Every RVC Scanner is rigorously vibration tested before it leaves the factory to meet the vibration-resistant demands of industrial scenarios.

11. What is the protection level of the RVC Scanners?

The RVC-P/I/G/M series are IP65 rated.
